Yonkers family seeks in-home care for Mom (85) and Dad (89), who live in a cozy condo in Northwest Yonkers.
We’re looking for one or two people to join our family’s “team” that takes care of Mom & Dad. There are currently four of us, but that’s not enough as we transition to the 24/7 care required by Mom’s declining state and impending return from rehab for PT & OT (where she’s been since 7/1/24).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• A caring, patient and trustworthy person to help with all aspects of geriatric care
• Previous home health aid / elder care experience & reference (required)
• Dementia/Alzheimer's experience (preferred)
• Driver’s license / clean driving record (preferred - Dad needs rides on a reg basis)
• Weekend & evening availability (preferred)
• Willing to do part-time live-in (preferred)

Primary concern: Mom (85) is a wonderful woman who needs help with just about everything these days. Rapidly-advancing dementia / Alzheimer’s has profoundly affected her, cognitively and physically. She requires assistance to move around and for all self-care needs: walking (with walker), moving from bed to wheelchair, using bathroom, showering, getting dressed, eating, etc.

Secondary concern: Dad (89) is sharp, self-sufficient, and more productive than many half his age. He still does a lot on his own, but his need for support and help with things continues to increase as time marches on; he recently gave up driving and has started using a walker selectively, depending on the situation and how he’s feeling.

SCHEDULE / COMPENSATION / NOTES:
TBD - approx 20-35 hours per week (we’re open to options)
