Khachapuri is one of the most famous dishes in Georgia. It’s a delicious, cheese-filled bread, often shaped like a boat and topped with a runny egg.

Ingredients:

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp yeast
  • 200ml warm water
  • 200ml milk
  • 250g mozzarella cheese
  • 150g feta cheese
  • 1 egg (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and milk, knead into a soft dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Roll out the dough into an oval shape.
  4. Mix mozzarella and feta cheese and place in the center.
  5. Fold edges to form a boat shape.
  6. Bake at 220°C (430°F) for 15 minutes, then add an egg in the center and bake for another 5 minutes.
  7. Add butter on top and serve hot.
