Khachapuri is one of the most famous dishes in Georgia. It’s a delicious, cheese-filled bread, often shaped like a boat and topped with a runny egg.
Ingredients:
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp yeast
- 200ml warm water
- 200ml milk
- 250g mozzarella cheese
- 150g feta cheese
- 1 egg (for topping)
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
- Add warm water and milk, knead into a soft dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into an oval shape.
- Mix mozzarella and feta cheese and place in the center.
- Fold edges to form a boat shape.
- Bake at 220°C (430°F) for 15 minutes, then add an egg in the center and bake for another 5 minutes.
- Add butter on top and serve hot.
